Periodontitis, also known as gum disease, is a serious gum infection that damages the soft tissues and when neglected or untreated leads to severe bone loss. Periodontitis can cause teeth to loosen which lead to tooth loss. It is caused by poor brushing & flossing habits that allows the plaque bacteria to build up on the teeth.
